چکیده

A calix[6]arene capped by a tmpa unit provides Cu(ii) funnel complexes that, for the first time, accept not only neutral guest ligands but also anionic ones such as a hydroxide, which is due to a small conformational change in the calixarene cone.

Insights into the binding properties of a cuprous ion embedded in the tren cap of a calix[6]arene and supramolecular trapping of an intermediate.

Coordination of Cu(I) to a tren unit that is covalently linked to a calix[6]arene has been explored. The resulting complex revealed itself very stable in solution under an inert atmosphere, but extremely sensitive to O2 in solution as well as in the solid state. Therefore, its binding properties towards non-redox ligands have been studied in detail. The electron-rich metal center displays moder...

Coordination and Siting of Cu+ Ion Adsorbed into Silicalite-2 Porous Structure: A Density Functional Theory Study

Coordination of Cu+ ions adsorbed on plausible sites of a silicalite-2 lattice has been investigated computationally via hybrid density functional theory method at the B3LYP/6-311+G* and B3LYP/Def2-TZVP levels of theory using molecular models of the active site. The symmetrical coordination of Cu+ ions to almost five oxygen atoms of the all-silica framework in six-membered ring (6MR) sites of t...

Selective recognition of neutral guests in an aqueous medium by a biomimetic calix[6]cryptamide receptor.

The design of artificial receptors that can efficiently work in water is a challenging research area. A possible biomimetic approach for the elaboration of such receptors consists of associating a hydrophobic cavity with a polar polyfunctional binding site. On this basis, a hydrophilic calix[6]cryptamide decorated with oligo(ethylene glycol) units (i.e. 8) was synthesized through an efficient [...

An induced-fit process through mechanical pivoting of aromatic walls in host-guest chemistry of calix[6]arene aza-cryptands.

The per-ipso-nitration of a TMPA-capped calix[6]arene has been achieved. The substitution of the six bulky tBu substituents for nitro groups has a strong impact on the behavior of the ligand during guest recognition. The complexation of the aza cap (by H(+) or Cu(+)) associated with the encapsulation of a guest triggers an induced-fit process leading to the loss of the cone conformation of the ...
